Crown Tools Bowl Gouge

Product Description

A bowl gouge is the perfect tool for roughing down bowl and platter blanks as well asshaping and hollowing to a good finish.

These tools are made by milling a U shaped flute in a round bar.The width (a little confusingly) is the width of the flute, rather than the diameter of the bar.

The larger gouges are ideal for roughing down blanks and reaching into large bowls. The 1/4″ (6mm) is great for final cuts.

Crown Tools also make a short bowl gouge which is perfect for smaller lathe work or where fouling the bed may occurwith the longer handled gouges (the length of handle is listed in the options).
