In 2001 Stiles and Bates ground some of their 1/2” scrapers to this profile for a course they were running.

Crown Tools followed suit so you lovely people can also benefit from S&B’s innovation.

So this is not a new idea but from what Dave Bates has shared with us, this tool is more useful than other dovetail tools as it will cut both internal and external dovetails on bowls or spigots on spindles.
