Product Description
Veritas offer top-quality replacement blades for vintage block planes in PM-V11 tool steel. All are lapped on the face side to a flatness tolerance of 0.0005” (0.0127mm) or better, with an average roughness (Ra) of 5 microinches (0.000127mm) or better.
The blades are 1/8” (3.17mm) thick with a 25° bevel. The grooves in the blades are for the rear depth-adjust mechanism.
Which Veritas blade do I need for my Block Plane?
- First: check the width to determine the right blade for your plane; it is either 1 3/8” (35mm), such as the low-angle 60 1/2 style or 1 5/8” (41mm) such as the standard 9 1/2 style plane.
- Second measurement is the width of the slot in the middle of the blade; it should be either a 5/8” (16mm) slot, or a 7/16” (11mm) slot.
