Product Description
This is the standard angle version of the Veritas low angle block plane.
Preferred for general-purpose work, the 20° bed angle plus the 25° bevel angle on the bevel-up blade result in an effective cutting angle of 45°, the same as found in most bench planes.
A low-profile lever cap results in a plane that fits the hand well, at only 1/8″ higher than its low-angle sibling.
Mechanically, it shares the same features as the low angle block plane: a combined blade advance and lateral adjust, an adjustable mouth, a 6″ x 2″ sole, and a 1/8″ thick by 1 5/8″ wide PM-V11 tool steel blade.
