A MellowHogis a calmer version of its aggressive brother The Hog.The difference between the cut of the 2 rasps can be seen in the photos.

The original Hoghas the coarsest cut for hand rasps made by Forge de Saint Juery at cut 3 (cut = stitch).

The Hogis a great tool for reducingroughed out blanks for cabriole legs and guitar necks at great speed but retaining precision. The Hog hasa tapered half round section.

The Mellow Hoghas the same dimensions as the Hog. Many customers prefer this shape over the wider, flatter cabinet makers rasps of thesame length. So we decided to offer The Hogwith a gentler cut – CUT 6.

This cut is still coarse as this shape is very good for reducing stock to a defined line. It is just not as aggressiveas its bigger nastier brother TheHog.
